Background
This company has seen people’s needs on discovering/holding/attending new events in a more spontaneous way.
They wanted to develop a way that brings users more events randomly or let host attract more new guests
The scope set by the company was that they wanted to start from an mobile app. What the team should deliver was a prototype with basic functions for them to iterate and improve in the future.
My task was to define key needs, design and develop solutions and deliver mockups and all UI assets.
Ideation
The concept was that a platform that acts as an event matchmaker.
There are two key flows.
1. Users can discover and show interest in events & parties that are randomly shown. They can check all their events/parties status. They will also have more chances to connect with people they meet from an event/party afterwards.
2. Users can also host/arrange an event/party and find & invite new guests to generate more fun. When any other people show interest, hosts will also have the right to decline.
It should be fun but also safe for all users. It should relatively guarantee users satisfactions. Guests can only get information about the event after mutual recognition.
Prototype
The user experience design iterated many times from one with very basic functions to a more comprehensive and complete platform.
Here’s how it evolute:
Ver.1 At the early stage, we generated the key flow for users to use.
Ver.2 More details were added to user's profile settings and event's management. Some visual design was changed to make it more recognizable.
Ver.3 Since more functions were discussed, we have to design them and combine it with previous design. We also impoved some parts based on feedback from tech team.
Ver.3 We added some minor fix and also change UI design especially all fill-in boxes so they look more friendly and finalize the product.
